       Stomach is the organ of our body that breaks down the food that we eat into semi-solid state with the help of various chemicals and enzymes that are present in the stomach glands. Stomach cancer happens when a cancerous tissue takes shape within our stomach. Stomach cancer symptom can be quite indistinguishable and vague.

       Acidity and burping for years is the earliest stomach cancer symptom. Although these symptoms may be due to other stomach problems also, but about 2% of people suffering from acidity and burping have stomach cancer. Another stomach cancer symptom is feeling full. Under this condition, the person feels full up soon when eating the meals and over a period of time, the person starts losing weight.

       However, the exact cause of stomach cancer occurred in many people has not been found out by the researchers. As the research is still going on for determining the cause, it is found that older people are more tend to develop this dangerous ailment especially people above 60 years of age.

       Sometimes, small infections ascend in the stomach may turn up into stomach cancer or increases its risk. Sometimes, cancer is often occurred due to genetic reasons in few people, but this happens very rarely. However, whatever symptoms may arouse in anybody, unless it is properly been diagnosed to a specialist, calling it a stomach cancer would be completely wrong.

       Pain usually in the upper part of the abdomen or under the breastbone can also be a significant stomach cancer symptom. The person may also have difficulty in swallowing and may experience a constant feeling of sickness. Bleeding in the stomach cancers can make the person anaemic over time, making the person look tired and pale. Vomiting blood is usually not an early stomach cancer symptom, but it happens.

       If the person has swelling or pain in a leg or a sudden pain in chest and breathlessness, the person may have a blood clot in leg or lung. Under this condition, the person should immediately contact a doctor for anti-clotting medication. Advanced symptoms of stomach cancer include loss of appetite, fluid in the abdomen, anaemia, weight loss and blood in stool.

       If a person is encountering any of these symptoms, he or she should consult a qualified physician for a check-up. Early detection can facilitate efficient treatment of the disease.
